Obtaining The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
I was able to get the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser from an online grocery order at Walmart for $14.97. However, the journey wasn’t super easy. The website kept saying the cleanser was available but the first time I ordered, it got cancelled. Then I tried looking for it at a couple Shoppers Drug Marts near me, no luck. I tried again the next time I did a Walmart online grocery order and finally obtained the product.
This was unexpected since the last time I visited Walmart in person, the CeraVe products were all pretty much cleared out or they didn’t have this specific cleanser. I started looking for a replacement before completely running out of the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser I was using. I recommend you do the same if it takes weeks before you are able to find the product you want.
You can also try Shoppers Drug Mart online if they’re not sold out. Just keep in mind it’s only free delivery for orders over $50. Therefore, that might make you purchase more than you initially intended to.
Why I Made The Switch To The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
As the weather gets hotter, my sensitive, sunburn-prone skin has been feeling and looking dryer than usual. My skin reacted well to the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser so I decided to stick with the same brand, just a different formula. After reading up on what the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is meant to do, I thought it was the best choice for my situation.
Like I mentioned in the previous section, this product among other CeraVe cleansers was difficult to find. I even started to search up dupes/alternative options in the case that I ran out of the cleanser I was currently using, and couldn’t find the one I was aiming to buy in time.
The last cleanser lasted me about 5 months. I was using it twice a day. In my opinion, this makes the price and amount worth it.
Differences I Observed Between CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser and CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
|CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser||CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser|
|Consistency||Gel-like||Closer to lotion|
|Usage||I did eventually increase the amount I was using: From a third of my pinky finger to maybe about two-thirds. This was for more coverage and I got better results.||One light pump which amounts to about the same: Two-thirds of my pinky finger.|
|After-feel (Referring to the feeling on my face after rinsing off the cleanser)||Slippery||Rubbery|
Other Tips For Application
- Start by wetting your face with warm water
- Massage your skin in gentle, circular motions
- After cleansing, rinse with cold water
- Apply your choice of moisturizer using two or three fingers rather than your whole palm or hand, again be calm and gentle
- When moisturizing, also go in circular motions to cover all areas of your face and down to your neck as well
- Try not to be rough or aggravate your skin
- If you’re ever itchy, resist using your nails to scratch and use the tip of your finger or knuckle instead
- Not only is your nail harsher but it can also have some dirt that you don’t want transferring onto the skin of your face
How I Felt Parting From 1 Week Of Using CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
My skin is still adjusting to the formula. Fortunately, it feels more hydrated already and it’s still soft! I conclude that the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a better fit for my skin’s needs.
As always, understand your skin type and do proper research before purchasing skin products. Even if a brand is reliable, it’s still important to look at the ingredients and read reviews or watch review videos of certain products.
I personally think a good starting point is searching up articles on “Best cleanser of *the current year*” then look into the details of the products you think may work for you. This includes brands you trust, your budget, where to purchase these products, etc. Continue the research process until you can narrow down your options and feel confident about what exactly to buy.
Thank you for reading this review of the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser! I hope it is helpful if you’re interested in trying this product. To sum up, my skin type is sensitive, sometimes oily, and prone to sunburn or heat rashes so this cleanser fits my need for more hydration. Remember that skincare isn’t just about what products to use but also your physical treatment of it. Be gentle and avoid touching your face too much so germs don’t come into contact with your skin unnecessarily.
